Tomorrow afternoon is our Potluck lunch and board game celebration. We will be celebrating from 2:30-3:30pm. Please remember your potluck food item and traditional clothing.
We now have 2 volunteers for our field study. Thank you for volunteering your time for our last trip.
The weather on Thursday doesn't look great so please be prepared for all types of weather!

A few reminders:
1. The Grade 3's will be walking to Carburn Park on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 18th. Please dress accordingly.
2. On Wednesday, June 19th from 2:00-3:30pm, the students of Room 7 will be having a celebration. They are encouraged to bring a food item from either the country that they have been studying OR from their personal cultural background. It will be great to give the students the opportunity to try food from various countries. The students are also encouraged to dress up with traditional clothing from their country of study OR personal heritage. They could also dress up as a 'traveller' (this could be fun!). Students are also encouraged to bring a boardgame to play after the Potluck. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
3. We are heading to the Zoo on Thursday, June 20th. We currently have no volunteers for this outing. Please let me know if you can volunteer.
4. The Social Studies presentations will begin on Friday, June 21st and continue into the final week of school. Students are asked to have their research completed and ready to present by the Friday. This means that students may have to complete their project at home during the week night or weekend. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.

Just a reminder that our field study is on Wednesday, June 12th and NOT Thursday, June 13th. Please ensure you are dressed for all kinds of weather, as we will be outside the whole day.
Tomorrow is Talent Show Part 1.

I learned...
*that Tuesday, June 11th is Part 1 of the Talent Show
*what another student wrote about my setting
*that Monday, June 17th is Part 11 of the Talent Show
*about a new clock game on the computer
*a new game during our Grade 3 Challenge yesterday
*What the Greatest Showman movies is about
Ask Me About...
*how to tell time using an analog clock
*the clocks that we made
*frisbees in gym
*Titanic play that we watched in Music
*which song we played on the Ukulele in Music
*our First Nations Presentation we participated in last week
*the song we are singing at the end of the year
*my country research in Social Studies
*the Million Dreams video we watched in Music
*our morning challenge
*line tag in gym
*who I played with at recess
The students have until Friday, June 7th to complete their data collection for their Social Studies inquiry. Next week, students will have time to place their data into a visual appealing presentation. The students are working on the concept of SHOW not TELL. They have been asked to show their understanding through a visual presentation than to simply stand up and tell what they found out.
Thank you to all the volunteers who have let me know they can volunteer on Wednesday, June 12th. We currently have 5 which is fantastic. Thank you again for offering up your services.
