The Spring Gala will be held on Thursday, April 25th from 6:00-8:00pm. Please have your son/daughter at the school at 7:00pm to prepared for their gym performance.

Just a reminder that there is no school on Friday, April 19th and Monday, April 22nd. The Friday is due to Good Friday and Monday is a Non-Instructional Day (teachers will be at the school).

The grade 3 call time for the Spring Gala is 7:00pm on Thursday, April 25th. Please ensure that your child is at the school at this time. The performance time will be provided when you arrive at the school. If your son/daughter has a traditional costume/outfit that they would like to wear for the Gala performance, please have them come with it on.

Please let me know if you are available to volunteer for our Fish Creek field study on Monday, April 29th!! These permission forms will be going home shortly.

Today I learned...
*a llama is a close relative to the camel
*llamas spit at each other to solve problems
*llamas are used to carry goods
*llamas are herbivores (plant eating)
*llamas are not hoofed animals
*llamas can live 20 to 30 years
*llamas have no humps and camels have humps
*have 2 toes instead of hooves
*llamas dung is sometimes used as fuel
*that if a llama is born in the morning it is running freely by the evening
*long colon for water reabsorption
*llamas can carry 100 pounds for 10-12 miles
*have a thick, muscular chest used for sparring with other males
*llamas weight between 280 and 450 pounds
*llamas have a leathery pad underneath their toe nails
*that llamas stood near Mrs. Giffen while she was eating lunch in Peru
*llamas are very social and stubborn animals

We now have 4 volunteers for our Aggie Days field study tomorrow. Thank you very much for lending a hand. The students will be eating their lunch while watching a live rodeo tomorrow so please think about packing a lunch that can be eaten on one's lap and doesn't get too messy. If students have any allergies of any kind, please bring the necessary medication. There will be a large number of animals in close proximity.
