Just another reminder that we do not have school tomorrow! See everyone Monday. Please ensure that your child's field study form to Heritage Park is back by Tuesday, March 5th.
There are also several students who have not yet returned their report card envelopes and fee agreement sheets. Please do so as soon as you can!
Students worked through various Pink Shirt Day related activities on Wednesday, February 27th. We started the day with a discussion on exactly what 'bullying' meant to the students of Room 7. We then brainstormed NEGATIVE words, actions, phrases that they had observed in the school and on the school yard. After a whole class discussion on the negatives, students selected one positive word that could be used to remember them by. They then used this positive word to cover up the one negative word that was the most hurtful to them. By covering up the negative, students were attempting to eliminate such language from the school. Students are also in the middle of creating an I AM poem, either from the perspective of a bully, the bullied, or the bystander. Stay tuned for these powerful poems!
